Restore Therapy is delighted to deliver this unique one day workshop, blending two original approaches to promote better movement after breast cancer surgery. This course is open to anyone who has completed the full ScarWork™ Certification training.
James Earls is a writer, lecturer and bodyworker, specialising in myofascial release and structural integration. James has developed specialist techniques to blend movement and manual therapy. James has collaborated with some of the top researchers in bodywork and fascial theory, and is has been involved in a number of projects involving research into fascia, movement and treatment modalities. James’ blend of movement and fascial understanding led to the publication of his book “Born to Walk”, an introduction to the interconnected mechanics of the body.
Emma Holly is an accredited ScarWork™ tutor with a specialist interest in oncology. Emma has been working with many leading cancer centres around the UK since 2017 to share ScarWork™ skills to help improve quality of life after surgery and radiotherapy cancer treatment.
During this highly practical workshop we will explore the benefits of combining movement with Sharon Wheeler’s ScarWork™. James will introduce you to his approach and share some simple assessment and treatment that will deepen your appreciation of myofascial tissue and the body’s interrelationships during movement.
In the afternoon we will explore how using these in conjunction with Sharon Wheeler’s ScarWork™ may promote better mobility for clients after breast cancer treatment. The workshop will include a ScarWork™ demonstration to refresh your ScarWork™ techniques. We finish the day applying your new skills in a clinical session working in pairs with clients after breast cancer surgery.
The workshop is suitable for ScarWork™ Therapists, please do not book unless you hold a ScarWork™ certificate.
